Your registration is completed after payment has been processed.
To secure your child’s spot, please complete the invoice as soon as it is received.
If you have more than 1 child, please create an account for each child.
For ages 13+, can enroll in adult classes.
Child must be appropriate age by the time the first class starts. For example, if your child is 4 1/2 years old at the beginning of the Fall session, they must wait for Spring to join.
NOTE: Classes are limited to 10 students per class, and it is on a first come, first serve basis.

TUITION
Payment is due at time of registration. If not paid within 8 days, or BEFORE the start of the first day of class, whichever comes first, a $25 late fee will be applied.

For monthly installments, payment must be delivered by the 1st of every month. After the 8th of the month, your account will be considered late and a $25 late fee will be applied.
If payment has not been received and student is a no-show on the first day of class without informing the studio of reason for absence or intent to continue, student’s spot will be offered to next person on Waitlist.

Tuition includes a $35 Annual Registration Fee, charged annually in August. New students are charged ARF the first time attending our studio.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Audition or Invitation Only
Our youth performance team trains in multiple styles at a quicker pace than the classes, all while developing their individual freestyle. The goal of the team is to perform at local street festivals (in Japantown and around San Jose) or events that we are often asked to showcase. We also want to prepare them for entering jams or battles, if that is what they are interested in.

This class introduces young dancers to the foundations of hip hop through fun, engaging movement. Students build coordination, rhythm, and listening skills while learning the basics of hip hop vocabulary, music, and culture. With a focus on creativity and self-expression, dancers explore freestyle and develop confidence without the pressure of heavy choreography.

This class is designed for older kids who want to explore hip hop in a fun and supportive environment. While abilities may vary, all students will focus on the same foundations: rhythm, musicality, movement vocabulary, and an introduction to hip hop culture and history. We place a strong emphasis on freestyle, creativity, and self-expression—encouraging every dancer to find their own style, no matter their experience level.

This class is designed for older kids who want to explore hip hop in a fun and supportive environment. While abilities may vary, all students will focus on the same foundations: rhythm, musicality, movement vocabulary, and an introduction to hip hop culture and history. We place a strong emphasis on freestyle, creativity, and self-expression—encouraging every dancer to find their own style, no matter their experience level.

In this introductory class, students will learn the basic elements of breaking, mainly focusing on toprock, go downs, transitions, floorwork and freezes. They will learn to condition their body and utilize different muscle groups necessary to perform these athletic dance moves.

Capoeira is a unique Afro-Brazilian art form that blends movement, music, and culture. In this class, students learn the fundamentals of capoeira kicks, escapes, acrobatics, and rhythms while also building strength, coordination, and teamwork. Beyond movement, students explore the history, songs, and traditions of capoeira—developing confidence, discipline, and cultural awareness.

Designed for our youngest movers, this playful class introduces rhythm, coordination, and basic hip hop movement. Through fun activities and games, kids develop fine motor skills, listening skills, and musicality. The focus is on exploration, expression, and building confidence in a supportive space.

This short-term session gives kids a chance to experience hip hop in a fun and accessible way. Students learn foundational movement and rhythm while being introduced to the music, history, and culture of hip hop. Freestyle, creativity, and self-expression are at the heart of the class, helping dancers grow confidence and individuality.
CLASS POLICIES

We are an intimate space, so please wait outside for your class to start.

Street parking is FREE after 6pm.

Parents may stay the first 5 minutes of class, and may come in for the last 5 minutes if invited by the instructor.
For safety reasons and for learning purposes, parents must remain outside for the duration of the class. Parents must communicate this information with the child's guardian (grandparent, sibling, etc).

Bring a reusable water bottle labeled with your child’s name.

Comfortable clothes that you can freely dance in!
Sneakers that are secure on the foot. No flip flops.
If wearing a dress or skirt, wear shorts underneath.
Please make sure all clothing is labeled.

TRIALS - Trials may be scheduled during the beginning of the session, IF there is space in a class AND the instructor is OK with it. A trial is $27, and MUST be scheduled via email to info@getdowndancestudios.com.
DROP-INS - We typically do not offer drop-ins as our classes are progressive. Our classes fill up quickly with many on the Waitlist. To ensure we provide the most optimal experience for all, please email info@getdowndancestudios.com to see if a drop-in can be scheduled. Drop-ins are $27/class.

There are no refunds, exchanges, or credits for missed classes.
Parents must notify The Get Down prior to the class meeting time if a child is absent from class.

If there are any doubts about your child’s health (unusually tired, not hungry, etc.) please keep your child at home to prevent the spread of the illness.

We schedule one showcase for the Fall session and one for the Spring session. The showcase is usually after the last day of the session, but specific dates, location and tickets will be determined at a later time.
There may be other opportunities to perform at local community centers, events and festivals.

If you need to cancel your enrollment, please submit a written notice via email at least 2 weeks before the start of the new session. If notice is given before this 2-week window, we will issue a partial refund, retaining either the registration fee or a $35 administrative fee, whichever applies.
If the session has already started, please email us with your intent to withdraw. At that point:
If you are on a monthly payment plan, we will complete billing for the current month and cancel the remainder of the session.
If you paid in full at the start of the session, we will issue a prorated refund for any unused classes, minus a $35 cancellation fee to cover administrative costs.
The $35 cancellation fee applies to all mid-season cancellations, regardless of payment method.
